R E D -- The very first of the surrogates. His true name, before the scientists claimed him and named him RED, has been lost. He is on his second life, and has escaped recapture by hiding in a place so dangerous that only he is foolish enough to go there -- Mt. Silver. He dreams of the day when there will be no more surrogates -- a day when they will not have to go into exile to retain their freedom.
